This tutorial will explain how to listen to your own .mp3 collection while you play games on your xbox 360.
What you will need
* Xbox 360
*USB HDD or USB Stick
*mp3 collection...Duh
1. Grab your USB HDD or USB Memory Stick and plug it into your xbox 360.
2. After you plug it in press the x360 "GUIDE" button and go down to near the play button.
3. Click on the icon which is above the play button and it should now let you choose your music source and browse your new device.
You can also access your music on the dashboard by going to media, music, then select portable device.
If your HDD or USB device IS compatible your mp3 music files will show up immediately and you can finish the tutorial here. If not continue on and finish the tutorial to learn how to format your device to FAT32.
Since your external hdd WILL NOT show up on your xbox 360 dashboard you will need to format the file system to FAT32.
5. Connect your usb device to your pc
6. Backup all your files to another place.. IMPORTANT!
7. Right click the usb device and choose "Format" - DO NOT FORMAT THE WRONG DEVICE!
8. Make sure "FAT32" file system is selected - If there is NOT a fat32 format option look for additional format tools on google.
9. Now that the your device is formatted in FAT32 your xbox 360 should pick it up just fine.
10.Copy some music of video files back over like .mp3, DIVX and XVID and you can access them all!
